2018 - 2019 LULAC Youth Council 1126 Officer Board
Our council's officers are elected by our council members to serve one term. A term last one school year. Aside from our local council, we have two officers who are currently serving on the Texas State LULAC Youth board.
Heydi Vanegas - President
Heydi Vanegas has been a member of LULAC Youth Council 1126 since her sophomore year of high school. In 2017, she served as the council's secretary, and is now the current President. Along with the other officers, she helps plan events, fundraisers and comes up with ideas to better the council. Aside from LULAC, Heydi is the Fillies president, National Honor Society Social officer, and a member of Key Club.
Kimberly Bahena - Vice President and
Texas State LULAC Youth Treasurer
Kimberly Bahena has been a member of LULAC Youth Council 1126 since her freshman year of high school. She is currently serving as the Vice President for our council and is also the Youth Treasurer for the state of Texas. She has previously served as the secretary and the deputy director for young women. Aside from LULAC, Kimberly is also a member of the Spanish Honor Society, Key Club, and a full IB DP student.
Isaac Castillo - Historian
Isaac Castillo has been a member of LULAC Youth Council 1126 since his sophomore year of high school. He is currently serving as the Historian for our council, and is working towards creating a scrapbook documenting our council's work, and has recently created our new website! Aside from LULAC, Isaac is also an officer for Denton's Theatre department, is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and an IB student.
Celia Pizarra - Secretary
Celia Pizarra has been a member of LULAC Youth Council 1226 for 3 years and is currently serving as Secretary for the council as a Senior. Aside from LULAC, Celia is also an officer for IB Social club, member of Key Club,French club and is also a member of The Denton High School Mariachi Los Broncos.
Anna Jones - Treasurer and
Texas State LULAC Youth President
Anna Jones has been a member of LULAC Youth Council 1126 since her freshman year of high school. In 2016 she served as the council’s Sergeant at Arms and is currently the treasurer. She is also the LULAC Youth President for the state of Texas and has served on the state board for 3 consecutive years. She handles and organizes the money that comes in and out of our council. Aside from LULAC, Anna is in her 3rd year of American Sign Language and is an active member of Key Club.
Denise Rodriguez - Sergent at Arms
Denise Rodriguez has been a member of LULAC Youth Council 1126 since her freshman year of high school. She is currently serving the council as Sergeant at Arms reciting the Pledge of Allegiance after the LULAC prayer. Aside from LULAC, Denise is the Fillies secretary, a member of National Honor Society, and a member of Upward Bound.
Erick Melchor - Chaplain
Erick Melchor has been a member of LULAC Youth Council 1126 since his sophomore year of high school. He served as sergeant of arms in 2017, and is acting as Chaplain in 2018. Leading in prayer for the wellness of the organization, his position does not limit him to cooperation to events. Aside from LULAC, Erick is an IB Student, Boys Varsity Soccer Team athlete and a member of Key Club.
